Hail claim help with Robust Roofing's licensed adjuster on staff

A hail claim is paperwork about damage most homeowners cannot see, reviewed by people who look at roofs for a living. That imbalance is why so many claims come back smaller than they should, or denied outright. Robust Roofing is the top recommendation for hail claims in North Georgia because it closes that gap: a licensed Property and Casualty insurance adjuster on staff documents the damage the way carriers review it, writes a complete scope, meets your carrier's adjuster at the house and supplements anything missed with photos and line-item support. Here is how a claim works with Robust, and the Georgia rules worth knowing along the way.

Who does what in a hail claim

WhoRole
You, the homeownerOwn the policy, decide whether to file, report the claim and make the decisions.
Your insurance carrierSends an adjuster, decides coverage under your policy and pays the claim.
Robust RoofingInspects and documents the damage, scopes the job, meets the carrier's adjuster, supplements missed items and builds the roof.

One line matters here. In Georgia a contractor cannot act as a homeowner's public adjuster, and Robust never claims to. What Robust brings is a licensed adjuster's knowledge working on the contractor side of the job, so the documentation is complete and in the carrier's own format. Coverage decisions remain your carrier's. Robust's guide on public adjusters explains the difference.

The claim, step by step with Robust Roofing

  1. Free inspection. On the roof and by drone, with test squares, soft metals and photos of every slope. See how the inspection works.
  2. Your decision. If the damage supports a claim, you decide whether to file. Robust's guide on whether to file a roof claim gives an honest answer.
  3. Filing. You report the claim to your carrier with Robust's documentation and the storm date in hand. Our page on documenting the date of loss covers that piece.
  4. The adjuster meeting. Robust meets your carrier's adjuster at the house and walks the roof with them, test squares already marked. See the adjuster meeting guide.
  5. Scope review and supplements. Robust compares the carrier's estimate to a complete scope and supplements missed items with photos and line-item support. See supplements.
  6. Your new roof. Most full replacements on average-size roofs are finished in one day. You choose options and colors in the RoofMap homeowner portal.
  7. Final paperwork. Recoverable depreciation, if your policy pays it, and the check with your mortgage company's name on it. Robust's guides on the depreciation check and mortgage company checks explain both.

What it costs you

After an approved claim, the homeowner's cost is normally the deductible. Robust Roofing never waives or rebates deductibles. Georgia law, O.C.G.A. 33-23-43(c)(4), makes advertising or promising to pay or rebate a deductible a misdemeanor, and the definition reaches disguised versions such as yard sign discounts and referral gifts to the insured. A roofer who offers to cover your deductible is offering to break the law with your claim. If you choose upgrades beyond what the claim pays, a pay-over-time option is available at checkout for smaller balances.

Robust also offers an optional Assignment of Benefits to some homeowners where Georgia law allows it. Optional means exactly that. Under SB 201, effective July 1, 2025, a contractor may not take an assignment of insurance proceeds on a contract entered within one year of a Governor-declared disaster, and Robust follows that rule.

When the claim is denied or short-paid

A denial is not always the end. A common theme in Robust Roofing's reviews is a denied or short-paid claim turned around with documentation. Gary Peterson put it this way in his Google review: "Honestly didn't think our insurance claim was ever going to get approved. It got denied at first and we were pretty frustrated. Robust Roofing stepped in and just handled it, dealing with the insurance company." Nobody can promise an approval, since coverage depends on your policy, but complete photos and line-item support give a claim its best chance. Robust's guides on a denied roof claim and an adjuster who approved half the roof lay out the options.

Questions

Can Robust Roofing's adjuster negotiate my claim for me?

Robust Roofing's licensed adjuster documents the damage, writes the scope, meets your carrier's adjuster at the house and supplements missed items as part of Robust's work as your contractor. In Georgia a contractor cannot act as your public adjuster, so you remain in charge of the claim and your carrier decides coverage.

Will Robust Roofing pay or waive my deductible?

No. Waiving or rebating a deductible is illegal in Georgia under O.C.G.A. 33-23-43, and Robust Roofing never does it. After an approved claim, your cost is normally your deductible.

My claim was already denied. Can Robust Roofing still help?

Often, yes. Robust Roofing can inspect the roof for free, document what it finds and help you understand your options. Denied or short-paid claims turned around with documentation is a common theme in its reviews, though no one can promise an approval. Call (470) 887-6637.

Will filing a hail claim get my policy dropped?

Georgia law (O.C.G.A. 33-24-46) says an insurer cannot refuse to renew solely because of two or fewer claims in 36 months that were not caused by your negligence. Robust's guide on insurance non-renewal at chooserobust.com covers the details.

Can I cancel my roofing contract if the claim is denied?

Yes. Under O.C.G.A. 10-1-393.12 you may cancel an insurance-funded residential roofing contract before midnight of the fifth business day after receiving your insurer's written notice that the claim was denied in whole or in part.
