What hail this size does to a roof
Quarter size hail is the size most often behind roof damage claims. It can bruise shingles and dent soft metals, especially on roofs more than a few years old. That was about 1.4 years ago. Policies set deadlines for reporting a loss and for lawsuits, so check yours before assuming an older storm can still be claimed. Damage from it can still matter when a newer storm hits.
